Hi John,

We understand your frustration and wish we could offer a free recycling service. The reason we don't have pick up points is not because we make more money out of collections, but because the recycling facilities that we use are often well outside the cities and suburbs so it means that we can service more areas. The amount we charge actually covers the cost of recycling the items itself and we never resell or refurbish any items that we collect. We try not to publish prices on the website because we customise all of our quotes to take in size, location and access details - for example, does it require two men to remove, or is it an oversized item. We much prefer providing tailored, obligation free quotes over the phone or through email.

Hope this answers a few of your queries.

i have been trying to find a free e- waste drop-off point near Bayswater, and I thought I had found one when I found your web site. Then I realised there was a cost involved. I agree with Deborah. I can't see why you can't give a price for pick-up of e -waste. If it's just a tv or similar, you must have a pretty good idea of how much it costs to pick it up by now, seeing as you service most suburbs. If you can't give a firm price, at least you could give an aproximate one so people can have a rough idea how much you charge. I think the real reason you don't have drop off points is you won't make as much money as when you pick-up the waste. I'm all for recycling but it has to be at little or no cost. After all the consumer has no other real option but to buy electronic equipment which contains all this (eventual) e -waste. After all, if we didn't, you wouldn't be in business! Surely the cost of eventual disposal is costed into the purchase price.

Hi Catherine,

Unfortunately we don't service the Geelong area - why not try contacting your local council to see when their next council pick up is?

Thanks for your enquiry.

Hi Alex,
Unfortuntely we make a promise to our customers that no part of their electronic waste is resold or given away, and 98-95% of our ewaste is recycled - even the plastic.
Good Luck

Hi Parama,
Prices can vary depending on size and location, so it's probably best to give our office a call on 1800 392 783 (Freetoll) and one of our customer service team will be happy to assist you.
Thanks for your enquiry.

Hi Deborah,
We completely understand your frustration, but our costs actually cover the costs of properly recycling electronic waste. Companies offering free "recycling" are usually re-selling or illegally exporting ewaste to developing countries. Our recycling process involves taking all ewaste apart by hand and disposing of the toxic materials safely - have a look at our article "<em>Who pays the price for your free electronic waste collections</em>?" for more information. We're also a private company and have no funding from the government, but we do agree that more options for recycling should be available.
Thank you for your feedback.

Hi Brad,
Whilst it's true that ewaste contains valuable materials, the cost of properly recycling these items far outweighs the value of what's inside. That's why there's such a problem with illegally exporting ewaste to countries with cheap labour and fewer health and safety laws. Have a look at our article "<em>Who pays the price for your free electronic waste collections?"</em> for more information. It would be great if the government could help us out with costs, and that's what we aim to achieve my raising the awareness of recycling electronic waste.
Thanks for your feedback.

With the amount of money made in the recycling process of ewaste eg, the metals extracted from the ewaste such as gold, silver, etc. The cost of disposal of the ewaste to the consumer should be free. With just another cost invoked on the end user in this user pay society, no wonder we just throw it out in the rubbish. It is a pity that the governments don't provide drop off points or subsidies for companies like yourselves that are trying to do the right thing for the environment.

I thought that your site was a fantastic idea till I got to the part that charges for pick up.
No wonder everyone is just chucking stuff at the tip. Plenty of other areas of recycling are free as they make the money by the recycling of the collected product such as mobile muster etc. I am hard pushed to see why ewaste is not set up like this, everyone out to make a buck everywhere. If its due to your picking up then give people the option of dropping it off to you I'm not opposed to doing that.
I care for the environment but dont have the bucks just the energy.
