Brisbane ewaste & computer recycling

1800ewaste Brisbane – electronic waste and computer recycling service.

1800ewaste is Brisbane’s leading ewaste collection and recycling service. We’re dedicated to diverting as much electronic waste (ewaste) from Brisbane landfill and overseas export as possible. For too long, metals such as mercury and lead found in computers and other ewaste have been buried in landfill, leaving the toxins to leach into the ground and waterways. This cannot continue.

The 1800ewaste service is professional fast and reliable. We collect your ewaste from your door and deliver it to the appropriate recycling facilities where 95-98%, by weight, will be recycled for future use.

What is ewaste?

The term ‘ewaste’ encompasses all old electrical appliances either in a state of disrepair or simply obsolete. This includes everything from fridges and microwaves to mobile phones and computers. The correct disposal of ewaste is of vital importance to being able to achieve a sustainable future.

Safe, environmentally friendly & certified ewaste recycling.

1800ewaste only use accredited electronic waste recyclers, ones that are governed by ISO140001 standards – the international regulation for the safe disposal of electronic waste.

Thanks anyway.

Hi E-waste, have you considered sending a truck down the Qld. coast with e-waste pick ups in regional council depots (Cairs, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, etc) along the way, maybe twice a year could be worthwhile?
Mike

Hi Michael, Great idea and one that we’re looking into – we just have to get the local councils on-board. Hopefully we can activate services like this in the not to distant future. Thank you.

Hi E-waste,

I am involved in conducting a waste audit of a firm where I am employed as an intern. Like most firms, even they generate e-waste. I would just like to know if you extend your services to business houses in Brisbane CBD and if there’s a cost involved?

Thanks.

Ewaste March 15, 2010 at 1:27 pm

Hi Prateek, yes we do service Brisbane CBD and yes there is a cost involved. Please give us a call on 1800 392 783 and we can discuss your requirements. Thank you

Do you extract and dispose of the refrigerant from the fridges? Or do you, or someone in India vent the gas into the atmosphere?

Ewaste March 29, 2010 at 1:40 pm

Hi Tim, Yes, all fridges we collect in Brisbane are degassed and recycled in Australia in accordance with Australian standards. In addition all electronic waste we collect is recycled in Australia and governed by the ISO14001 standards – we are passionately against the export of ewaste to developing nations.

i have 6 [roughly ] fertilizer bags here of old computer bords including tv , dvds ,videos, etc , im just wondering if theres anyone in the cairns area that will come and pick it up and pay for it , any help would be great , thanks david

Ewaste October 5, 2010 at 8:37 am

Hi David,

Unfortunately we don’t service your area. We recommend contacting your local council to see if they have any collection days for your electronic waste. For old DVD’s and videos you can often sell them online.

Thanks

To David, have any luck with those circuit boards same dilemma any information greatly appreciated.

joseph November 21, 2011 at 2:07 pm

Hi David
Am writing from Fiji and used to work for a company that exported waste recycables in 20footers to Brizbane. Am intrested in establishing an ewaste recycling collection here and sending a container to Brizbane once a month in mid 2012 for recycling. Do you allow for this if so do your prefer this in 100-300kg bales or in loose form.

regards
